Fiscal Year 2027 Appropriations Community Project Funding Requests

In accordance with Republican Conference rules and adherence to all transparency and accountability criteria, below is a list of Community Project Funding requests from the Office of Congressman Trent Kelly to be considered in the Fiscal Year 2026 Appropriations Legislation. Project Name: Lee County, MS - Lee County Emergency Operations Center

Requested Amount: 13,500,000.00

Intended Recipient: Lee County, Mississippi

Request Explanation: This is a good use of taxpayer funds because it directly addresses a critical public safety gap in Lee County by establishing a centralized, secure, and fully interoperable Emergency Operations Center capable of coordinating life-saving response efforts during disasters. Project Name: Clay County Flexible Community Protection & Resource Optimization Project

Request Explanation: The Clay County Sheriff’s Office is requesting federal funding to improve law enforcement operations through the acquisition of patrol vehicles, equipment, and advanced technology that support daily public safety responsibilities. Planned purchases may include patrol vehicles and related outfitting, communications and surveillance technology, investigative equipment, and other tools that enhance officer safety, strengthen response capabilities, and improve overall operational effectiveness. Allowable project costs may include, but are not limited to, patrol vehicles and associated equipment; firearms and officer safety gear; less-lethal devices; body-worn, vehicle-mounted, or fixed camera systems; fingerprint identification technology; computer hardware and software; records and data management systems; communications and dispatch equipment; and other technologies that assist in law enforcement and crime prevention activities. Funding may also be used for other eligible public safety, detention, crime prevention, officer safety, or operational support needs consistent with program guidelines.
