The One Big, Beautiful Bill is a historic step forward, delivering results for Mississippians and all Americans. Whether you're a senior on fixed income, a working family trying to make ends meet, a farmer, or a small business owner in rural America, this legislation is about putting Americans first and restoring commonsense priorities in Washington.

One of the most impactful provisions of this bill is its commitment to protecting and strengthening Medicaid. For years, the system has been strained by waste, fraud, and abuse. This bill protects benefits for those the program was always meant to serve, pregnant women, children, individuals with disabilities, and low-income families. By removing illegal enrollees, enforcing commonsense work, training, and education requirements, and ending duplicate enrollment across multiple states, we can preserve this safety net for the most vulnerable while safeguarding it for future generations.

For our seniors, the bill delivers long-overdue relief. It expands access to home and community-based care, allowing more Americans to age independently and receive the care they need in the comfort of their own homes. Just as importantly, it provides financial relief by ensuring that the average Social Security recipient will pay no federal taxes on their Social Security benefits – real savings at a time when every dollar counts.

The One Big, Beautiful Bill is also the most pro-worker, pro-working family legislation in modern history. It makes the Trump Tax Cuts permanent and delivers the largest tax cut ever for working families. This means bigger paychecks, lower tax bills, and huge annual savings for working American families. Low-income workers see the biggest percentage drop in their tax burden. New provisions like tax-free tips and overtime, plus an enhanced child tax credit, make it easier for working families to get ahead. 

Our rural communities also see major wins in this legislation. We're making a historic investment in rural healthcare, giving states the tools to strengthen local hospitals, support providers, and improve access to care closer to home. For Mississippi and all Americans, this is a game-changer.

Farmers and small business, the backbone of our economy, are also protected. With expanded market access, permanent tax relief, and permanent enhanced death tax relief, including the small business deduction, this bill brings certainty and stability to family farms and Main Street businesses alike. It gives them the freedom to grow, hire, and continue producing the food, fuel, and fiber that keeps our country running.

At the heart of the One Big, Beautiful Bill is a return to the America First principles that put the needs of our citizens ahead of bureaucracy and broke systems. President Donald Trump and House Republicans are protecting what matters, fixing what's broken, and standing up for the people who count on us.
