Kelly Releases Statement on Senator Thad Cochran

Washington - Congressman Trent Kelly (MS-01) has released a statement regarding Senator Thad Cochran's decision to retire.

"Senator Cochran has been a dedicated and influential public servant through his time in the United States Navy, the House of Representatives, the Senate and through his current role as the Chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee," Rep. Kelly said.  "I am grateful to call him my friend.  He has made a lasting impact on behalf of all Mississippians and his leadership will be greatly missed.  I thank him for all that he has done for our great state and this great nation.  I wish him all the best in retirement."
                                           
Congressman Trent Kelly represents Mississippi's First Congressional District.  He serves on the House Armed Services Committee, the House Committee on Agriculture and he is the Chairman of the Subcommittee on Investigations, Oversight and Regulations for the House Small Business Committee.  This is his second term.
