Kelly Announces Mississippi's 1st Congressional District Art Competition 1st Place Winner

Washington, April 22, 2023
WASHINGTON - U.S. Representative Trent Kelly is pleased to announce the 1st place winner of Mississippi's 1st Congressional District Art Competition. Allie Bullock, a 10th grade New Albany High School student, submitted an oil painting titled, "The Climbing Tree." She received her award Friday evening during a ceremony held at Blue Mountain Christian University. Allie said the tree featured in her artwork has always been her favorite tree to climb as a child. Brent and Jennifer Bullock, Allie's parents, said their daughter has been drawing since she could hold a pencil. Allie was thrilled to learn that she will receive two free round-trip plane tickets to attend the national awards ceremony in Washington, D.C., this summer. Her artwork will be displayed with other winners from across the United States in the U.S. Capitol. Art competition details are available at TrentKelly.house.gov/constituent-services/arts-competition.htm.
