Kelly Announces Service Academy Appointment

WASHINGTON - U.S. Congressman Trent Kelly is pleased to announce the appointment of Jaxon Nolen to the United States Naval Academy. Jaxon is an outstanding student who has excelled in the classroom and well beyond. He ranks fifth in his class at Itawamba Agricultural High School. The Fulton native has received numerous awards in both academics and athletics. His awards and honors include serving as a Hugh O'Brien Youth Leadership Ambassador, serving as a Christian Leadership Institute Ambassador, and his inclusion in the IAHS Hall of Fame. Additionally, Jaxson has devoted himself to numerous community service projects, including the organization of a blood drive and volunteering for the Trinity Baptist Church Food Assistance Program. Jaxon is looking forward to reporting to the Naval Academy in June. "I am excited," Jaxon said. "I have always wanted to serve my county in the Navy." Jaxon is the son of Kevin and Selena Nolan.
