Dear Friend,

Ukranian President Volodymyr Zelensky is standing tall against Russian President Vladimir Putin. I am cautiously optimistic that Ukraine will continue to defend itself against Russia's aggression. I believe the United States and our allies must leave every option on the table, to include but not limited to, energy independence, sanctions, removal from the SWIFT banking system, and removal from the UN Security Council, to deny Putin's advance and maintain a democratic and sovereign Ukraine.

national agriculture week

This week, America recognizes National Agriculture Week. Agriculture is Mississippi's number one industry and home to approximately 34,700 farms. Additionally, there are numerous businesses and industries who provide farmers with the goods and services they need to be successful. Now, more than ever, we must remember the many sacrifices made by farmers and ranchers to feed and clothe our great Nation.

As a member of the House Agriculture Committee, it is essential to receive feedback from our stakeholders. In Pontotoc, it was an honor to meet with farmers and members of the Mississippi State Legislature to discuss the Ag Committee's work in Washington on the next Farm Bill.

Mississippi's workforce is second to none, but our men and women have felt the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Recently, the House Budget Committee held a hearing to discuss the unique challenges that women have faced during the pandemic.
