Dear Friend,
Mississippi and America are enjoying unprecedented economic growth. We must bring America and our trade partners into the 21st century by enacting the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA). This bold initiative will allow the American economy to grow by modernizing the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) so that we can meet the demands of an ever-changing global marketplace. spectra laboratories |
Congratulations to Spectra Laboratories, a subsidiary of Fresenius Medical Care North America! The company recently broke ground on a 200,000-square-foot facility in Southaven's Stateline Business Park. The lab will be used to conduct testing and analysis to support kidney care services for a portion of the company's 250,000 patients. I was proud to join Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant along with state and local leaders to break ground and celebrate the creation of 300 jobs.

uzbekistan |
This week, I was honored to meet with members of the Uzbekistan Armed Forces, who the Mississippi Army National Guard has joined forces with through the Department of Defense (DOD) State Partnership Program (SPP). Through this program, Mississippi Guardsmen conduct joint exercises with the Uzbek servicemembers. The well-rounded relationship we have built and maintained with Uzbek is beneficial to both our nations and goes well beyond military exercises. Person to person engagement is critical for the development of friendships and alliances in critical regions of the globe.

charles dick medal of merit award |
More than 100 years ago, Major General (MG) Charles Dick, President of the National Guard Association of the United States, a Congressman and later a Senator, pushed for and gained passage of the Dick Acts of 1903 and 1909. This legislation laid the foundation for the modern National Guard. His outstanding achievements in support of the National Guard would lead to the establishment of the Charles Dick Medal of Merit in 1988. Every year, the award is given to an elected leader who demonstrates a strong devotion to the National Guard. Additionally, their work must also have a lasting impact on the future of the National Guard.
As your Representative and member of the Mississippi Army National Guard, it was humbling to be selected for this award. I am grateful to serve with these men and women who stand ready to give their all in service to the United States of America.
