Dear Friend,
Thank you for taking the time to read my weekly newsletter. This week, I want to discuss how rules and regulations handed down from federal agencies, like the EPA, have real-world consequences on businesses and our economy.

Reining in the EPA
Mississippians are fed up with the way Washington operates and feel their government is no longer accountable to the people. One of the most egregious federal agencies is the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). This week, the House defended the brick manufacturing industry from a devastating EPA rule that would require small business owners to either spend millions in compliance costs or go out of business completely. The Blocking Regulatory Interference from Closing Kilns Act—the BRICK Act—would simply delay compliance of this rule until the courts complete its judicial review. This common-sense legislation ensures that business owners do not have to make investments due to a rule that could later be vacated by the courts. This rule will not only impact consumers in Mississippi, but small, family owned businesses like the Columbus Brick Company. Please watch my remarks on the House floor:
