January 23, 2017

Dear Friend,

This is an exciting time for our great nation as President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence took the oath of office on Friday. Our new leaders have gotten to work swearing in retired Marine Corps General James Mattis as secretary of the Department of Defense and retired Marine Corps General John Kelly as secretary of Homeland Security. President Trump has taken action to begin the process for lifting harmful healthcare law provisions and stopping new and pending regulations across the federal government. I look forward to working with President Trump and Vice President Pence to get our country back on track to having a strong national defense and an economy that creates more good paying jobs for our citizens.

58th Presidential Inauguration Ceremony

Mississippi Army and Air National Guard in DC

Our military men and women devote their lives to protect our freedoms and help to keep America safe. That commitment was demonstrated by our own Mississippi Army and Air National Guard in DC this week. Approximately 150 Soldiers and Airmen provided support for the 58th Presidential Inauguration Ceremony. They conducted missions in support of the Joint Task Force-District of Columbia (JTF-DOC). Their duties included traffic control, crowd management, communications, public affairs, and chaplain support operations.
