Dear Friend,
On Wednesday, President Donald Trump signed Phase One of the trade agreement with China. This deal is a significant step forward for American manufacturing, intellectual property, technology, and agriculture. I am particularly encouraged by the positive impact this agreement will have on American agriculture. Eliminating structural barriers that have unfairly limited United States food and agriculture exports into China will provide new opportunities and much-needed relief for Mississippi and American farming industries.
This week, President Trump achieved an additional trade victory for our Nation when he signed into law the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA). This historic legislation modernizes the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), creating freer and fairer trade practices critical to maintaining America's unprecedented economic growth.
I am happy to see President Trump continue to deliver on his promise to negotiate better trade deals to ensure American competitiveness in the global marketplace, resulting in more American jobs and a stronger economy.
