Dear Friend,

We live in the greatest nation on earth. As Americans, we can affect change with a ballot. We saw that on Election Day. It is a proud moment to see millions of Americans, including my fellow Mississippians, go to the polls and vote their conscience. That is American democracy at its best.

I am humbled to receive your overwhelming support for a second-term in office as your First District representative. I remain committed to building and maintaining strong relationships. It is an honor to fight for your best interests by working to cut through government red tape and by working to forward policies that help rather than hinder.

My top priority is strengthening our nation's defense. At a time when there are rising threats around the world, it is so important that our service members have the training and the tools they need to protect us all. Our commitment to our service members continues even after they leave the military.  On this Veterans Day, join me in showing appreciation to those who have defended our nation.

Lafayette High School Veterans Day Ceremony

Lafayette High School's Air Force Junior ROTC hosted an incredible ceremony to honor our United States Armed Forces Veterans. The ceremony included great performances from the Lafayette High School Band and Lafayette High School Choir.  AFJROTC Cadets paid tribute to the many veterans present and thanked them for their devotion to our great nation.

TMMMS hosts a Veterans Day ceremony every year at their Blue Springs plant to thank their TMMMS Team Member veterans for their military service. The kids of the Tupelo Early Childhood Education Center performed patriotic songs which moved us all. It was a great event.

Remembering a
Mississippi Hero

It was an honor to meet O.R. Dulaney in August shortly before his 99th birthday. This great man served his country as a U.S. Army Medic during some of the fiercest battles of WWII. After he returned home from war, his hard-earned medals were stolen. State Representative Randy Boyd and our office worked together to replace them and we honored him during a ceremony at his church in Mantachie. This member of the greatest generation will be missed.

the alliance

The Alliance in Corinth is made up of people who want to enhance the quality of life in the northern part of the First District. Their 22nd annual meeting showcased the many good things happening in the area. One after another, we heard the stories of volunteers who love their historic City of Corinth and Alcorn County and work tirelessly to promote the area.

Historic downtown Corinth

The Alliance works to attract companies by showing them what the area has to offer including a strong labor force of 15,630 workers, quality schools, and solid retail investment. Companies can choose to locate anywhere. The Alliance's mission is to put Corinth and Alcorn County on the economic development radar. It is great to see their accomplishments through the attraction of manufacturers to the area such as Caterpillar Inc., Kimberly-Clark and KeyTronicEMS.

The Alliance has ambitious plans to attract even more manufacturers. I appreciate the commitment of these talented and eager professionals to create more job opportunities for Mississippians.

how can we assist you?

Willy Weddle

The best way to serve you is to begin by listening. That is what our team is here for. Willy Weddle is a field representative serving Webster, Choctaw, Winston and Calhoun Counties. The Webster County native says his favorite thing is helping others. He especially enjoys caring for our veterans. It is not unusual to find Willy having a cup of coffee with a veteran who just needs good company.

Willy also remains a familiar face at city and county meetings in the counties he serves.  As a former high school principal, Willy keeps close ties with school district administrators, teachers and young people.

Willy, a church pastor, works with many churches and non-profit organizations as part of our faith-based outreach. Our team is always searching for a variety of ways to assist you and Willy demonstrates that every chance he gets.
